Our great tradition of sarees has been accepted everywhere in the world. Bollywood actresses, have started draping sarees from the time of “Kaagaz Ke Phool”, i.e. from the birth of Bollywood. Since then, even great great celebs enjoys and drapes sarees to refurbish their glamorous look. And Indian celebs are in-love with sarees. Additionally, designers of Bollywood, India, are designing such a mind-boggling sarees, that you will get amazed. Also, they have very admirable creativity in designing the upcoming trend in ethnics, especially sarees of 2015.

Many celebs, such as Vidya Balan, Kareena Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Sonam Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Mandira Bedi are in love with sarees and also with designs and textures of these designers. Top 5 designers for sarees

Manish Malhotra

Nowadays, Manish Malhotra is one of the most popular designer in the country. He loves to create a piece which reflects “Modern” or “Contemporary India”. His strength is that he can play amazingly with colours and can make costumes and ethnics that suits the character. He is most favourite designer to design costumes for Bollywood. He got his first ever Filmfare award for costume designing in 1990, for Rangeela. And after Rangeela, he never seems to be back. Right now, he is on the peak of his success. Our “Bebo” i.e. Kareena Kapoor, loves to wear attires designed by Manish. She also walks a lot times for Manish Malhotra. Manish has recently designed costumes for Movie “2 states” for Alia Bhatt.



Sabyasachi Mukherjee


Sabyasachi Mukherjee is one of my favourite designer for sarees in 2015. Sabyasachi’s style is very unique among others. His signature style is royal vintage attires. He uses very uncommon fabrics with fusion of work and tribal prints. Gota work, dyeing, and bandhani with an enchanting and fascinating vibrant colours, is his style. Many celebs are habituated to wear his attires and drapes he designs. In between of 2013, Sabyasachi has designed around 18 hand-worked sarees for Bollywood’s “Silk Smitha” Vidya Balan. And she also wore seven sarees for her public attendances. Take a look of his work. These are awesome!




Masaba Gupta

Masaba has been a boom in herself from some recent years. She managed to crack at Wills Lifestyle India Fashion week in the age of only 19. She is the youngest designer to get it. Masaba’s playing with trending and awesome looking prints and unconditionally cool silhouettes pattern is just so much remarkable. And many celebs from Bollywood are habituated with her cool and trending designs. Mandira Bedi and Shilpa Shetty have been appeared very frequently in sarees, designed by Masaba. Ritu Kumar

Ritu’s creative cultural and traditional designs in sarees and ethnic wear is said to be god gifted. Her so much understanding in her old antique designs is just beautiful to watch on ramps. Her outlets named “Ritu” are in 14 cities and 35 stores throughout India. Her sarees have an unusual texturing of old and typical prints or Hand work in it. She is also one, who is having most experience about fabrics, designing and work in the industry. Ritu’s Fashion show always remains houseful with biggest celebs and designers.



Tarun Tahiliani


Tarun Tahiliani, famous designer is the one who co-founded multi-designer boutique in India in 1987, with her wife. His sarees are in-famous and trendy because of its simplicity with awe-inspiring silhouettes with tremendous colour combination. Our “Shona”, Sonam Kapoor is much inspired with her designs and does pretty much public appearance in drapes, designed by Tarun Tahiliani.
